Michelle Frick was born in Queens, NY. She has exhibited in New York and internationally in cities such as Rome. She is a recipient of the Artist in the Marketplace fellowship from The Bronx Museum of the Arts (2008), the BRIO grant (2008 and 2024), the Rogalski Award (2022), the Howard C.H. Award (2022), and nominated for the Dedalus Fellowship (2023). Her video “Chatter” was screened at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club’s 2023 Puppet Slam in New York.

Frick has received multiple 4heads residencies on Governors Island (2013-2021) and the Critical Feedback Residency at Trestle Art Space (2020). Her work has been featured in Hektoen International: A Journal of Medical Humanities and written about in The New Yorker, The New York Times, and Hyperallergic. Frick is an artist instructor at Studio in a School New York. She lives in the Bronx.
